BMS Monitoring Suite Privacy Policy

BMS Monitoring Suite is designed to monitor compatible battery systems using local Bluetooth connections. This policy explains how the app handles information.

Information We Collect

The developer of BMS Monitoring Suite does not collect, receive, sell, rent, or use personal information for advertising or analytics.

The app does not contain advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking technology. It does not track users across apps or websites.

Bluetooth and Battery Information

With your permission, the app uses Bluetooth to discover and communicate with nearby compatible battery systems.

Bluetooth information may include:

  • Device names and identifiers
  • Model, serial number, and firmware information reported by the device
  • Signal strength
  • Battery voltage, current, state of charge, temperature, capacity, cell readings, and related operating information

This information is used only to provide battery monitoring and configuration features. Live battery readings remain on your device and are not sent to the developer.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores configuration information and preferences on your device. This may include battery-system names, selected devices, device identifiers, monitoring preferences, and display settings.

If an optional numeric device-authentication identifier is required for a supported device, it is stored securely in Apple Keychain. The app does not request or store manufacturer-account passwords.

iCloud Synchronization

When you are signed into iCloud and iCloud services are available, the app uses Apple CloudKit and iCloud Keychain to synchronize configuration information between your Apple devices.

Synchronized information may include:

  • Names and configurations of battery systems
  • Battery manufacturer or protocol selections
  • Assigned device names, identifiers, serial numbers, models, and firmware versions
  • App preferences and display settings
  • Secure device-authentication identifiers stored through iCloud Keychain

This information is stored in your private iCloud account and is processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policies. The developer does not use this information for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.

Information We Do Not Collect

The app does not collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
  • Your precise or approximate location
  • Contacts, photos, health information, or payment information
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Usage analytics or crash reports sent to the developer
  • Manufacturer-account passwords

Sharing of Information

The developer does not share or sell user information.

Information synchronized through iCloud is handled by Apple as necessary to provide iCloud and CloudKit services. The app may communicate locally with battery hardware over Bluetooth, but it does not send battery telemetry to the developer.

Data Retention and Deletion

Configuration information remains on your device or in your private iCloud account until you delete it.

You can remove battery-system configurations from within the app. Deleted systems may remain temporarily in the app’s recycle bin until you permanently empty it. You can remove the app’s local data by deleting the app from your device.

You can manage or delete information stored in iCloud through the app, your Apple device’s iCloud settings, or by contacting Apple regarding your iCloud account.

Permissions and Your Choices

You may deny or revoke Bluetooth permission in iOS Settings. Doing so prevents the app from discovering and monitoring Bluetooth battery systems, but Demo Mode remains available.

You can control iCloud access through your Apple device’s iCloud settings.

Children’s Privacy

BMS Monitoring Suite is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app’s features or data practices change. Any revision will be posted at this location with a new effective date.
