BMS Monitoring Suite Privacy Policy

Overview

Oontz does not operate an account system or application server for BMS Monitoring Suite and does not collect or receive your battery telemetry, saved locations, configuration, or EcoFlow credentials through the app.

The app does not contain advertising, developer-operated analytics, or third-party tracking technology. It does not use advertising identifiers or track you across apps or websites. Apple may separately provide Oontz with aggregated App Store information or diagnostics if you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Apple device settings.

BMS Monitoring Suite does use Apple services and, if you choose, EcoFlow’s sign-in service. Those services handle information under their own privacy policies as described below.

Bluetooth and Battery Information

With your permission, the app uses Bluetooth to discover and communicate with nearby compatible battery systems.

Bluetooth information may include:

• Device names, Bluetooth identifiers, and advertisement data
• Model, serial number, hardware version, and firmware information reported by the device
• Signal strength and the time a device was seen
• Battery voltage, current, state of charge, temperature, capacity, cell readings, and related operating information

The app sends protocol messages needed to establish a local connection and request or receive telemetry. It does not provide controls for changing battery settings.

Bluetooth and battery information is used for live monitoring, app configuration, optional historical logging, and the optional Power Map. It is not uploaded to Oontz or sent to a battery manufacturer by the Bluetooth monitoring connection.

Location and Power Map

Power Map is optional. When you first start mapping, the app asks for permission to use your location while the app is in use. After permission is granted, Power Map can use your location while it is on screen to show your position, center or follow the map, and calculate distances. The app records location observations for mapping only while Power Map is open in the foreground and you have started mapping.

Power Map combines the location and accuracy reported by iOS with nearby Bluetooth device identifiers, names, signal strength, and timestamps to estimate where battery systems are located. You can also confirm your current location for a system or edit a system’s location on the map.

The app saves Power Map information on your device. Saved information may include location observations, calculated or confirmed coordinates, uncertainty estimates, nearby-device details, connection-test results, and the latest battery telemetry summary captured while mapping. Power Map information is not included in the app’s CloudKit synchronization and is not sent to Oontz.

Power Map displays maps using Apple MapKit. Apple may receive map-service requests and information needed to provide Maps and Location Services, such as the visible map area and your device location when authorized. Apple handles that information under Apple Maps & Privacy and Location Services & Privacy.

Historical Data and Exports

Historical logging is off by default and can be enabled separately for each saved battery system. When enabled, the app records timestamps, battery index, state of charge, voltage, current, power, temperatures, and capacity readings in CSV files stored only on your device. Logging runs only while the app is active in the foreground.

You choose a local history storage limit. When that limit is reached, the app removes older readings while preserving more recent readings from each system. You can delete older history or all history in the app.

If you use the Share sheet to export a history CSV, the file is provided to the person, app, or service you select. Their handling of the file is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. The app does not automatically upload exported files.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores the information needed to provide its features. This may include battery-system names and configurations, selected manufacturers and protocols, device names and identifiers, serial numbers, models and firmware versions, local Bluetooth bindings, monitoring choices, display preferences, recycle-bin records, battery history, and Power Map data.

The app also creates a random installation identifier and stores modification timestamps. These are used to reconcile changes between your devices and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

For supported EcoFlow devices, the numeric account User ID needed for the local Bluetooth handshake is stored in Apple Keychain with iCloud synchronization enabled. The app does not store your EcoFlow email address, phone number, or password as an app credential.

iCloud Synchronization

When you are signed into iCloud and iCloud services are available, the app uses Apple CloudKit and iCloud Keychain to synchronize configuration information between your Apple devices.

Synchronized information may include:

• Battery-system names, identifiers, manufacturer or protocol selections, battery counts, topology, order, and recycle-bin status
• Assigned device names, stable identifiers, serial numbers, models, and hardware or firmware versions
• App preferences, sorting choices, and display settings
• Modification timestamps and the random installation identifier used to merge changes
• A reference to an EcoFlow credential in CloudKit and the numeric EcoFlow User ID stored separately through iCloud Keychain

Live battery readings, locally logged battery history, Power Map locations and observations, local auto-connect choices, and direct Bluetooth peripheral bindings are not synchronized through CloudKit.

Synchronized information is stored in the app’s private CloudKit database or in iCloud Keychain and is processed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Oontz does not use this information for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.

Optional EcoFlow Sign-In

If you choose “Sign In to EcoFlow,” the app opens EcoFlow’s official sign-in page in a temporary, nonpersistent in-app browser. Information you enter on that page, such as an email address, phone number, password, and verification code, is sent directly to EcoFlow and is handled under EcoFlow’s Privacy Policy.

BMS Monitoring Suite restricts the sign-in browser to official EcoFlow domains. After a successful sign-in, the app reads the numeric EcoFlow User ID from EcoFlow’s authentication cookie and saves that User ID in Apple Keychain. The app does not read or save your EcoFlow password. The temporary browser’s cookies and other website data are removed when the sign-in view closes.

You may instead enter the numeric User ID manually without opening EcoFlow’s sign-in page.

Information Not Collected by Oontz

Through BMS Monitoring Suite, Oontz does not receive your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, health information, payment information, EcoFlow password, battery telemetry, or saved Power Map locations.

Oontz does not sell or rent information processed by the app. Information is handled by Apple to provide iCloud, Keychain, Location Services, Maps, App Store, and optional diagnostics services; by EcoFlow when you choose its sign-in page; or by a destination you deliberately choose from a Share sheet or external link.

Data Retention and Deletion

Configuration and most Power Map information remains on your device until you delete it or delete the app. As mapping data is updated, the app limits raw location-and-signal observations to the most recent 30 days and 240 observations per Bluetooth device. Calculated or confirmed locations, device records, and the latest mapped telemetry summary remain until you reset or delete the applicable data. Historical readings remain until you delete them or the app removes older readings to enforce the storage limit you selected.

Deleting a battery system moves it to the app’s recycle bin and synchronizes that state through CloudKit. Emptying the recycle bin requests permanent deletion of those system records from CloudKit and removes them from synchronized devices.

Power Map’s “Reset Location Estimate” removes saved location observations and estimates for that item. “Delete All Local Data” removes local configuration copies, locally logged history, and all Power Map data from that device.

“Delete All Local Data” and deleting the app do not delete configuration already stored in CloudKit or EcoFlow User IDs stored in iCloud Keychain. CloudKit configuration may download again when the app is reopened. You can remove a saved EcoFlow User ID with the app’s “Remove saved EcoFlow account” control. You can also manage app data through the iCloud storage controls available in your Apple device settings.

Permissions and Your Choices

• Bluetooth: You may deny or revoke Bluetooth permission in iOS Settings. Doing so prevents discovery and monitoring of real Bluetooth battery systems, but Demo Mode remains available.
• Location: You may deny or revoke location permission or control Precise Location in iOS Settings. Location is used for Power Map; the rest of the app’s Bluetooth monitoring does not require it.
• iCloud: You can control iCloud access through your Apple device settings. If iCloud is unavailable, configuration remains stored locally and monitoring continues.
• History: You decide whether to enable historical logging for each system and can delete saved history at any time.
• EcoFlow: EcoFlow sign-in is optional. You can enter a User ID manually and can remove a saved User ID from Keychain in the app.

Children’s Privacy

BMS Monitoring Suite is not directed to children. Oontz does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app’s features or data practices change. Any revision will be posted at this location with a new effective date.
