NoShortsPro Privacy Policy
NoShortsPro processes and stores limited information locally on your device. It does not send your activity, settings, or browsing information to Oontz.
How NoShortsPro Works
NoShortsPro runs locally in Chrome and Safari, including its iPhone and iPad companion app. On supported YouTube pages, it examines page structure, links, selected element attributes, the hostname, and the URL path to identify and block Shorts content. This processing occurs on your device using rules bundled with the product.
NoShortsPro does not intentionally read or retain your YouTube account identity, name, email address, cookies, authentication tokens, search-query parameters, video titles, descriptions, comments, transcripts, form entries, or viewing history.
Information Stored on Your Device
NoShortsPro stores whether blocking is enabled and a local activity snapshot. The snapshot includes cumulative counts for matching blocking rules, the time of the latest match, the most recently matched hostname and URL path, and a total match count. A match count is not a unique person, browsing session, or necessarily a deliberate interaction.
A stored path may contain limited page information, such as a Shorts video identifier or YouTube channel handle. URL query strings are not stored, so a standard video URL is normally recorded only as /watch, without its video parameter.
In Safari, the activity snapshot is copied through Safari's local native-messaging system to the NoShortsPro companion app so the app can display activity information. The copy remains in local app-group storage; it is not sent over the Internet.
No Accounts
NoShortsPro does not require an account, login, sign-up, subscription, or email address. You can install and use it without providing any identifying information.
No Tracking or Developer Data Collection
NoShortsPro has no developer-operated backend and does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, remote-logging, account, or cloud-synchronization services. It does not programmatically send activity information, browsing information, settings, or diagnostics to Oontz or another third party. Oontz has no dashboard, API, or other feature that can access the information stored locally by NoShortsPro.
Permissions
Browser permissions are used only to run the extension on supported YouTube pages, apply the blocking rules, store local settings and activity, and communicate locally with the Safari companion app.
Data Retention
The local activity counts are cumulative and do not automatically expire. NoShortsPro currently has no in-app control to clear them. The stored settings and activity normally remain until you clear the extension's data, remove the product, or your browser or operating system removes the applicable storage. Product updates normally preserve them.
Platform Services and Links
Safari may write an opaque Safari profile identifier and the number of rule-count entries to Apple's local unified system log when it handles an activity snapshot or invalid message. No application code sends this log to Oontz. Browser, operating-system, backup, and diagnostic services may handle local application data according to your settings and the platform provider's policies.
If you choose to open YouTube, the Oontz website, or this privacy policy, your browser makes an ordinary request to that website. NoShortsPro does not attach its local activity snapshot or settings to those requests.
